It’s a vicious cycle really. When it storms here in Houston, our backyard gets very wet. We have areas that tend to almost capture water and therefore create little patches of mud. Then, we let our 10 month old puppy, Sam, out to potty. Did I mention Sam loves to run, play, jump, throw his, ball and find little patches of mud to play in after it rains. Yea, you can see where this is going. Wednesday night, we got a really good storm and on Thursday morning, we had lots of little patches of mud. I let Samdog out to potty and by the time I went back to let him in, he was in desperate need of a bath. So what do I do?? I grab my camera! He’s done this many times and this is by no means the worst it’s ever been. In fact, this is pretty clean compared to most romps in the mud. I mean, he barely has any on his ears!! However, I’m usually so agitated he’s played in the mud yet again, I never stop to grab a picture of it. I just grab the hose, get him cleaned off and back in the house. This time was different though. Instead of getting mad, I got my camera. I knew better than to leave him out too long so it’s my fault, really.
But in the grand scheme of things, it’s just mud. It washes off. He had a blast in it, I’m sure. And really, how can you not giggle when you look at the sweet snout covered in goo 🙂
The look on his face in the first picture is priceless to me. It’s like he’s giving me the “Am I in trouble?” face!
And a few after his bath… All clean!!

Oh Sam, you sure do keep your mommy busy giving you weekly baths. Tell her it’s time to perhaps think about putting a pool in filled with bubbles just for you. How can you be angry when he has such a beautiful face? 🙂
