When I was young, I never wore shoes. Even in places that you were supposed to wear shoes, I didn’t. My mom would take us to church, and the first thing I’d do was take my shoes off and run around. This would make the congregation laugh, as my father did, and still does, work in the shoe business. I was the walking, talking version of that age old adage “the cobbler’s kids have no shoes”. Now that I’m an adult, I realize I’m no better than that two year old running around church with no shoes. As is the case with many photographers, I’ve needed new head shots for a while, but have just kept putting it off (and putting it off, and putting it off…). The last time I took some time to actually have head shots taken was almost 2 years ago; I was past due for an update. So I enlisted my trusty second shooter, my sister, to take some new pictures of me for the website.
I also realized that I haven’t taken the time since opening the doors of Lindsay Elizabeth Photography to introduce the two greatest boys a gal could ask for. The boys I speak of are my 7 year old Shih Tzu Jackson, and my 2 year old Golden Retriever Sam. I fully and completely admit I’m one of those people who loves their dogs almost too much, and I’m 100% okay with that 🙂 Not to be left out, I brought my boys along with me to get in some of the pictures.
This is my sweet Sammy. He has more energy than he knows what to do with, has an obsessive compulsive love of tennis balls and playing fetch with them, loves to snuggle right up next to you, hogs the bed when he sleeps, and I couldn’t love him more if I tried.
And despite being the older of my two dogs, this is my baby boy Jackson. He loves to play with anything that squeaks and will squeak, squeak, squeak nonstop, he loves to be outside, even though he’s 7, he still gets blasts of energy that cause him to run around like a maniac, he is stubborn as a mule and has a mind of his own, and despite his serious attitude problem, he is one of my greatest blessings.
This might just be my favorite picture of the bunch because it perfectly depicts my tiny, but wonderful little family. I’m showing my boys some love like I always do, Sammy has his tongue out and a smile on his face (and a ball at his feet, but you can’t see that part), and Jack is right there in the middle being squished and wishing he were anywhere else. Pretty much the epitome of our daily life 😉
The spit bubble on his tongue is too much 😉
