– Four Generations –

Currently, there are four generations of my family alive and well. It seems we Strode’s have some pretty exceptional genes, as we also have a picture of when there were 5 generations of Strode alive and well. It was taken several years ago when my great-grandmother was 104 and still lively. Suffice it to say I feel lucky to have the genes I do! This picture is the most recent picture we have of the 4 generations of Strode. My mom took this on a trip she and my father took to Tennessee this summer. From left to right we have my brother Chris, my nephew Carter, my father Dan with baby Emily in his lap, my other nephew Riley, and my Grandma Lou. Grandma Lou is 90 years old and still works a 9-5 because, as she explains it, what else would she do with her time if she weren’t working?!

Just wanted to share a bit of my family with all of you out there in internet land. Holidays, even small ones like today, always remind me of how much I miss my family and wish they were closer. So, for those of you laborers not working this Monday, take some time to enjoy your family.
