They met two and a half years ago. It was their first day of new teacher orientation. She was new to the school district; he was new to teaching. They started talking and realized they were both English teachers and would start the school year at the same high school. Nathan was immediately smitten with Erica but Erica, well, she need some convincing. So after many attempts to get Erica to go out with him, Nathan used his dog as his way to her heart. And it worked. 🙂 Last month, we all gathered in the beautiful gardens of Vargos Restaurant to watch my older sister marry her best friend.
You first met Erica and Nathan when I blogged their proposal story. Shortly thereafter, we shot some engagement pictures and now, I bring you their wedding!!
Before we move on to the pictures, I need to give a HUGE shout out to my friend and seriously talented photographer Chip. Since I was the matron-of-honor at the wedding, we needed someone to photograph the day for us. Chip came out and did an aaaaamazing job capturing everything wonderful about their day. Chip, you rock! 🙂
If you know my sister, you know she loves shoes so having plain white shoes on her wedding day just wouldn’t do.
Knowing there wouldn’t be much light left when the ceremony was over, they opted to do a first look! I’ve said it a hundred times on this blog, but I love me some first look!!

I couldn’t have dreamt up a day more hectic, intimate, fun, and full of love. The day wouldn’t have been possible without my sister, Mrs. Lindsay Perry, directing, coordinating, and bossing everyone around…in a good way. Nathan and I are blessed to know her and be her friends, and I’m lucky because I’ve known her 22 years longer than he has. I married my best friend with my other best friend standing as the matron of honor. Thank you, Monkey.

I KNOW that you love E; it has been/was/and still is written ALL OVER YOUR FACE! But remember, we four !%@!$ are more than just pretty faces…. I love you, and you are a member by proxy now. I still remember the first time we ever spoke to each other, and you told me your “five year” plan concerning you and Erica….I think it was a little bit quicker than your original plan, right?

I saved the best for last – I LOVE YOU! You are my girl, and you should already know that! You did a phenomenal job of looking like a “princess,” AND a “girlie-girl,” even though you protested that “you are not all into the planning of a wedding!” I’m so happy and especially glad that you found and married your “best friend”; it really does make a BIG difference in a marriage. I wish for you two nothing but sweet moments, sweet memories, and lots of make-up $%#!!!

Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow, what a beautiful wedding with a couple so very much in love. Just such a pretty setting too. My favorite photo is the one of the two of you dancing together. Just perfect.
